Keynote Speaker’s Company Brings Healthy Sanitation Reform to Urban Areas in Kenya

Social entrepreneur Ani Vallabhaneni’s passion is helping the world become a cleaner, healthier place.  Ani’s student project at MIT has developed into a model sanitation business, converting human waste into a valued commodity.  We are pleased to have Ani share his experience and vision at the 2015 OU International WaTER Conference.

As a co-founder of the Nairobi based company Sanergy, Ani oversees the expansion of the company’s technical operations, including engineering and internal systems and processes.

The sanitation system offers clean, affordable sanitation, as well as jobs potentials, for the community.

Previously, Ani turned around a chain of dialysis clinics for low-income patients in the Philippines. With a background in technology and operations, he has built start-ups in India and the US.

Ani is a Legatum Fellow, Draper Richards Kaplan Fellow and an Echoing Green Fellow. He holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and a BS from Washington University in St. Louis.  The keynote address from this award- winning innovator of positive change should be an inspiration to all.
