The Water Technologies for Emerging Regions (WaTER)
Center at the University of Oklahoma will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the
OU International WaTER Conference and the University of Oklahoma International
Water Prize. The conference and award ceremony will be held Sept. 18-20,
2017 in Norman, OK, USA.
Conference attendees in 2015 visit during the poster session, a great occasion for networking. |
The 2017 OU International WaTER Conference, with the
theme A Decade of Progress - A Vision for
the Future, is expected to gather around 200 participants from multiple
disciplines with a common goal of bringing water and sanitation to developing
countries. Attendees include water and sanitation experts, students, and
interested attendees from academia, industry, NGOs, government and foundations.
Making the 2017 conference all the more exciting is the
fact that, in honor of our first decade of conferences and Water Prize
recipients, we will have our first four prize winners back as well as celebrating
our fifth prize winner, all of whom will present during the conference and
participate in a panel discussion.
The two-day conference includes poster and concurrent
oral presentation sessions devoted to all technical and non-technical topics
and sectors (e.g., science, engineering, health, anthropology, sociology,
business, meteorology, geography, education and cultural issues) relevant to
water and sanitation in remote regions of developing countries.
